My idea for this was based on Warhol's Soup can, using pop art of the time to express the new medium of the Art of Advertising Bored Ape Yacht Club is a brand symbol for a contemporary art environment today. I find pop art fun, making portraits for print making, my thinking In this scenario, Bored Ape is a Brand symbol, the way the Campbells Soup was to Warhol Pop Art is about taking prominent themes that are already in our environment, and presenting them from another perspective I’ve seen them on billboards driving north of Boston, I’ve seen them in surf and skate shops on t-shirts, I’ve seen them on stickers, it’s brand symbolism of the modern day, an image representing a medium, the soup can represented the new medium of advertising as an art DISCLAIMER: I intend the portrait to act like a juxtaposition between the times of art and consumerism from Warhol to now
